Dosage and Administration
The recommended dose of Nexium 24HR Once Daily Dosing is one 24-hour continuous dose taken by mouth. The recommended dosage range is 2.5 to 24.5 mg per day. Do not exceed this dose. Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.
Do not take Nexium 24HR Once Daily Dosing if you have had a stomach ulcer, have a liver disease, have a kidney or heart condition, or if you take any of the following medications:
You should not take this medication if you:
You have had a heart attack, have hard, bleeding ulcers/perforations in the stomach or intestines, or if you are breast feeding. These could be signs of a serious medical condition, such as cancer or diabetes. Contact your doctor immediately if you develop any of these symptoms.

Nexium 24 Hour Heartburn Relief Medicine is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve temporary burning and itching symptoms of heartburn and to reduce the frequency of recurring heartburn. It can be an effective treatment for heartburn that is painful and lasts for a long time.
Take one tablet daily, preferably 1 hour before or 2 hours after a big meal. Take Nexium 24 Hour Heartburn Medicine on an empty stomach and at least 30 minutes before eating to reduce the chance of stomach upset. Take no more than 1 time within a day if you get more than your usual painful symptoms. Do not take more than Nexium 24 Hour Tablet on your menstrual cycle unless directed by your doctor. If symptoms worsen or persist, consult a doctor.
Long-term use of Nexium 24 Hour Heartburn Relief Tablet may be used for 4 to 6 weeks before the full benefit of heartburn is seen. However, Nexium 24 Hour Heartburn Medicine may continue for 4 to 6 weeks after you stop taking it. You should see your doctor for advice if you get more prolonged relief.

Description:Nexium Acid Reducer Esomeprazole Magnesium 20mg is intended for use for treatment of frequent heartburn (occurs 2 or more days a week). This product is not intended for immediate relief of heartburn; drug may take 1 to 4 days for full effect.
Directions for Adults Age 18+:Swallow 1 capsule with glass of water before eating in the morning. Take 1 capsule per day for 14 days. May take 1 to 4 days for full effect. Do not take for more than 14 days or more often than ever 4 months, unless directed by physician.

Read product information and consult with a physician before using Nexium 24HR Capsules and any other products discussed in this article.Nexium (esomeprazole) tablets are indicated in adults and pediatric patients for the treatment of frequent heartburn and acid regurgitation. These tablets should be swallowed whole with water. Patients should not chew, crush or open the tablets. Patients should not use alcohol or give them to eat to prevent the risk of stomach irritation. Patients should be informed that they are being treated for frequent heartburn with an adult (≥18 years) or pediatric (≥5 years) doctor. The safety and efficacy of esomeprazole magnesium have not been established.
Note: This is a generic medication. You will need to read labels carefully before using this medication to ensure you are taking the correct dose.
For the treatment of frequent heartburn:
This medication should not be used in patients with known allergy to esomeprazole magnesium or any component of the product.
Patients with severe heartburn should use a proton pump device that contains a pump that should be properly primed before use. Patients with heartburn who have experienced side effects after using this product should stop using the proton pump device.
Patients with severe acid reflux may need to use other proton pump medications for treatment of frequent heartburn.
Patients with severe acid reflux may be at increased risk of serious gastrointestinal reactions from an acid-suppressing drug.
Patients should not use the acid-suppressing drug when they have a stomach ulcer or other gastric problems.
Patients taking certain medications, especially loop diuretics (diuretics that increase the amount of fluid in the urine), should be closely monitored during treatment with this product.
Patients should not use the proton pump device when they are older.
Patients with a history of heartburn or erosive esophagitis should use a proton pump device to treat frequent heartburn.
Patients with a history of heartburn should use a proton pump device to treat frequent heartburn.
